I’m not good with intro posts. I tend to find them rather icky. But every so often, I find myself in the curious pickle where introductions are–unfortunately–necessary.
Today is one such time.
We’ll start with me. Kenzie. The writer behind the blog. The bean behind the books. This isn’t my first time on the blogsphere. Back in 2017, my first blog, Smudged Thoughts, was a rather hopping little place in cyberspace, but I’ll be the first to admit that consistency was not my strongest suit back then.
Like at all.
Which meant that keeping up with blogging and actually holding myself accountable to being present was a no-go. But a few years, two blogs, and a couple shady attempts at vlogging later, here we are at The Bookish Bean! I wish I could say all the roads which led us here were easy, but that would be a massive lie. Instead, I can say that I am here today because of a dream I have yet to realize:
sharing my words, dreams, and stories with the world.
This blog ain’t gonna be for everyone, folks, I’m gonna say it right now. If you’re not interested in reading books, writing books, or hearing a whole lot about Jesus and the goodness of God, then you’re probably not gonna want to stick around. If, however, these topics do strike your fancy, I encourage you to join me on this wild journey of writing stories that mean something.
It won’t always be easy. It definitely will not be perfect. But through this blog, I hope to find, encourage, and teach other writers like me. Writers who want their words to reach not just the bookshelves, but the hearts of their readers. Writers who write with a purpose deeper than to hit The End.
